Welcome from the Head Teacher
Thank you for taking the time to visit our school website, we hope you find it interesting and informative.
North Stainley CE Primary School is a small, village school with a distinctive Christian character. Our Christian values are central to everything we do and we have strong links with St Mary’s Church, North Stainley. We welcome all faiths and cultures and value diversity.
At North Stainley CE Primary School we offer a creative, stimulating and caring learning environment where every pupil is valued. We strive for excellence in everything we do and value achievement in every area of our pupils lives. We carefully monitor pupil progress through 1:1 mentoring; our staff know our pupils exceptionally well.
At North Stainley CE Primary School we have a passion for the Arts and our pupils excel in these areas. We also believe every pupil should take part in a wide range of exciting and engaging sporting activities- including outdoor and adventurous activities, and have the opportunity to take part in extended school clubs and represent their school at sports competitions and festivals.
All our pupils are encouraged to believe that they have an important role within the school and in their local community. We feel that if pupils don’t care about their local environment, they will never care about the wider world they live in. As such we encourage our pupils to be involved in their local community both within school- school councils, charity work, volunteering, forest schools and out of school- Village Arts group, cricket team, Brownies etc. At North Stainley CE Primary School we take very seriously our responsibility to prepare children for life in modern Britain. We ensure that the fundamental British Values are introduced, discussed and lived out through the ethos and work of the school. All curriculum areas provide a vehicle for furthering understanding of these concepts and, in particular, our RE, PSHE and Citizenship lessons provide excellent opportunities to deepen and develop understanding. Children embrace these concepts with enthusiasm and demonstrate a good understanding of their application to their own lives. The school makes considerable efforts to ensure children have exposure to a wide experience beyond their local community.
Our older children are all part of our school councils and therefore have an opportunity to make an active contribution to our school community and therefore shape the future of our school. We have an Arts Council, a Sports Council, an Eco Council, a Worship Committee and cluster Pupil Voice Ambassadors.
Our class sizes are small which further enables our staff and children to build close and positive relationships and allows for greater personalization of learning.
