Events in the Village
19 Oct 2022
Thanks to all those who came to our harvest celebrations last week and made donations of food for the food bank or cash to WaterAid. The church was full (standing room only at the back!) and everyone seemed to enjoy the blend of the traditional alongside contributions from the school, not to mention Rev Sian’s sermon on Jammy Dodgers! Thanks to all those who decorated the church and those who provided yummy cakes for the harvest tea afterwards.
News of a few more events happening soon in North Stainley……….
This Thursday, 20 October, is Bacon Church from 8.45 – 9.45. Drop in for breakfast - a bacon roll (gf and vegetarian sausage options also available), fresh coffee or tea.
Bring your friends, have a chat, come and make new friends. At about 9.30 we will have a very short prayer for our community and our world. All welcome!
On Friday
28th October at 7.30 the BADAPPLE Theatre company are presenting
“The Frozen Roman” in the Village Hall at 7.30. Contact Frank and Glenys for tickets and more information, or see the A board posters around the village. 01765 635236
Remembrance Sunday this year is on
13th November. As in the past few years, we will hold a short outdoor service in the churchyard at 10.45am, weather permitting (otherwise inside the church). All are welcome to come along as we remember those involved in conflicts near and far, recent and historic.
Then some more dates for your diary
There will be more yummy cakes at the North Stainley Sport and Recreation Trust
coffee morning in the Village Hall on
Saturday 19th November – watch out for more details later.
The Friends of North Stainley School will be holding their
Christmas Fair in the Village Hall on
Saturday 3rd December – again, more details later, but there will be refreshments, a Christmas jumper stall and prebookable family photoshoots!
Finally, thank you to all those who have been popping their
used printer cartridges into the box at the back of church. We have raised nearly £90 since the scheme started in April! Please keep donating them.
