Looking into the New Year, make a date in your new diary for
Soupy Saturday – 14th January, 12-2pm, in the Village Hall
Following on from the Village Trust’s successful coffee morning last November, St Mary's would like to offer another possibility for the community to come together in the Village Hall on a Saturday ….. this time for "Soupy Saturday!". Come and enjoy a bowl of home-made soup (there will be a choice available) and a roll followed by tea, coffee and cake. Donations will go towards the upkeep, ministry and work of our village church. Further details from Sally (sallygabriel50@hotmail.co.uk)
Then also look out for details of the
North Stainley Arts Society Pantomime – Treasure Island. It is described as a swashbuckling panto full of fun and special effects!
2nd, 3rd and 4th February, in the Village Hall. Tickets and more information from Glenys and Frank. 01765 635236
As you may be aware, the January edition of the Parish Magazine is sadly going to be the last (for now anyhow). Huge thanks to Christine Greensit for editing it and her team of helpers for distributing it (especially John, Scilla and others in our area). Please keep an eye out for notices of events which will be posted on the various noticeboards in our village. The North Stainley village website has recently been revamped and so please check on there for upcoming events and general information about the village (northstainley.org.uk). News and events are also posted on our village church Facebook page, on the website for the Masham group of churches and on the Methodist circuit website.

North Stainley School, the parish council, the Staveley Arms and the cricket club all have their own websites and some have Facebook pages as well.
The Masham Community Office sends out a weekly email containing local news and events. Please contact them if you would like to be sent this useful resource.
Since covid, I have been sending out these occasional emails with news of events etc in the village. This is done in a personal, “unofficial” capacity to those for whom I have an email address. If you know of others who would be interested in receiving these, please ask them to contact me directly on
janemansell21@gmail.com. If they do not have computer access and would like to receive a printed copy, please contact me on 01765 634682. Thanks.
With best wishes for Christmas and the New Year
