Wellbeing

Wellbeing in our school is a whole-school approach that integrates mental, emotional and physical health into everyday school like and its culture to ensure children feel safe, valued and ready to learn.

It is important for academic achievement and long-term health. We know that children cannot engage fully if they are struggling emotionally; wellbeing is directly linked to better attendance and learning outcomes. Research also shows that a child's emotional health at 16 years is widely recognised as the strongest predictor of adult life satisfaction.

We are proud to be a part of the myHappymind Family!

As a whole school programme grounded in science and dedicated to building positive mental wellbeing, myHappymind helps children understand how their brains work and creates a culture that helps to build children's resilience, confidence, and self-esteem. myHappymind also teaches the children how to self-regulate and manage their emotions in stressful times, allowing them to be their very best selves!

“myHappymind has helped me to be kinder to myself and my friends.”

At North Stainley we use the 5 Ways to Wellbeing:

The legacy of COVID-19 have made us all aware of how important our mental health is. When things get difficult children (and adults) mental health can be easily challenged and we sometimes need a little helping hand when this happens.

Please use the resources below for yourselves and your children.  Remember there is always someone in school that you can talk to - we are here to listen.
