Welcome

Nestled in the heart of our local community, North Stainley Church of England Primary School offers a complete and enriching education for children aged 4 to 11, from Reception through to Year 6. Our small class sizes create a warm, inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to step outside their comfort zone, try new things, and grow in confidence.

At North Stainley Primary School, learning goes beyond the classroom. Whether it’s exploring the outdoors in Forest School, building water confidence through swimming classes, performing in music recitals, or taking centre stage in our Year 5 and 6 school play, every child is given the opportunity to shine.

We are proud of our strong academic foundation, with a particular focus on phonics, Maths and English, but also the breadth and depth of our wider curriculum. We consistently receive positive feedback from both pupils and parents. But what truly sets us apart is our sense of community – a place where children of all ages know and support one another, forming lasting friendships and a deep sense of belonging.

We warmly invite you to discover what makes North Stainley Primary School such a special place to learn and grow. Contact us via email to book a visit.

"Welcome to North Stainley Church of England Primary School – a small rural school with a big heart.

At North Stainley Primary School, we believe that when children feel safe, seen, and supported, they develop the confidence and curiosity to become lifelong learners and thoughtful citizens."

Mrs Katie Barker, Headteacher North Stainley Primary School

About our School

North Stainley Church of England Primary School is a friendly, exciting and stimulating place to learn. We want our children to become creative, independent and confident, able to forge their own future and change the world for the better. We have a wonderful, hard working, dedicated staff and a very supportive local community. Our children are happy, confident learners and we work closely with other schools in the Ripon rural cluster.

The school is situated about 4 miles north of Ripon. The school was founded in the mid-1800s and the present school room was built in 1871. We also use the village hall for teaching, PE, drama productions, events and lunches.

We are very proud of our distinctiveness as a church school and we have very close links with the village church of St Mary the Virgin. We have strong links with the Diocese and work in partnership with the wider church school family.

We are committed to preparing our children for living in a global community. Our passion for celebrating diversity and the richness of other cultures can be seen in all aspects of the school’s work.

We work closely with our local community and are always looking for innovative ways of extending the range of opportunities we can offer our children.

Our Vision and Values

LDLT Vision

Serving and celebrating our unique schools and communities, we will love, live and learn together. Valuing our pupils, staff, governors, and team as people of God, we will deliver transformational learning and the flourishing of all.

Our Vision is rooted in the example of the life of Jesus. In each Gospel and story, we are challenged to love one another and ourselves (Matthew 22:37-39) and reminded that all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

School vision

We are our school; we have our roots and foundation in love.

Our school is us, we will grow, blossom and flourish.

Our school vision of having our roots and foundation in love comes from St Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. St Paul says, ‘I pray that Christ will make his home in your hearts through faith. I pray that you may have your roots and foundation in love,

So that you…may come to know his love – although it can never be fully known…and so be completely filled with the very nature of God (Ephesians 3: 17 – 19).
