Proposal to close North Stainley CE Primary School
After extensive discussion and deliberation, Leeds Diocesan Learning Trust Directors have regretfully come to the decision to propose to the Secretary of State for Education, the closure of North Stainley CE School at the end of the Summer term 2027. Parents/carers and other stakeholders were made aware of this proposal on 15th July 2026. The primary reason for this proposal is the low pupil numbers which means the Trust cannot guarantee the high-quality education and social

Class 1 Trip to Thorp Perrow
Class 1 went on a visit to Thorp Perrow last week and had a fantastic time. We enjoyed learning about trees and plants, spotted amazing animals such as meerkats and wallabies, watched a fantastic birds of prey show, and ended with fun in the park. A wonderful day of learning and adventure!

Speak out Stay safe

Sports Stars!
We've had some fantastic sporting opportunities for the children over the last couple of weeks. On Thursday 19th March, we enjoyed a fantastic taster session with the All Stars and Dynamos cricket team. JAM Club
JAM is back on after school on Monday 9th March for our Easter Special! We'll be thinking about the Easter story and then making all sorts of Easter related crafts - some old favourites and some new ideas! JAM Club is back soon!
On Monday 9th February we'll be meeting in the Village Hall after school until 5pm to think about one of the stories Jesus told. (Spoiler alert - it includes a donkey, robbers, bandages and showing God's love - any ideas?). We'll have storytelling, singing, crafts and games. All welcome - please book in through Arbor. JAM Club
We are looking forward to our special Advent and Christmas themed JAM session on Monday 1st December after school. We'll be hearing the story of 'The Grumpy Owl and the Joy of Christmas' and then doing lots of activities as we explore this theme. A fantastic £52.10 raised for Children in Need!
We had a wonderful day on Thursday raising money for Children in Need. Thank you for your generous donations. The children all came to school dressed in their sporty clothes (some spotty and sporty!) and we challenged ourselves to run laps to keep fit. We all enjoyed a refreshing ice-cream when the van came to see us and we tracked Sara Cox and her marathon challenge of getting Pudsey to Pudsey! North Stainley Remembers🌹
Today we have been thinking about Remembrance day and the sacrifices that were made by selfless people during the wars in order for us to be here today. We had a special Collective Worship lead by Reverend. Simon all about 'quiet' and how this coincides with Armistice Day, before we all made our way out to the churchyard to lay a wreath on a war veterans grave and stand for a two minutes silence to ay our respects.
