Class 2 News
This week in Geography, Class 2 did an excellent job planning a range of interesting walks in our local area. Alongside this, they wrote clear and detailed technical descriptions, using directions and compass points. Everyone produced some impressive work, which we are excited to share with you. Spring 1 Week 4
We’ve had a wonderfully busy and engaging week in Class 1, with the children immersing themselves in rich learning experiences across many subjects. KS1 World Religions – Hinduism As part of our whole‑school focus on World Religions, the children continued exploring Hinduism. We revisited how the religion began, the importance of The Veda, and key beliefs about Brahman and the forms God can take. JAM Club is back soon!
On Monday 9th February we'll be meeting in the Village Hall after school until 5pm to think about one of the stories Jesus told. (Spoiler alert - it includes a donkey, robbers, bandages and showing God's love - any ideas?). We'll have storytelling, singing, crafts and games. All welcome - please book in through Arbor. Geography Discussion
This half term we have been exploring the question " How does our local landscape in North Yorkshire shape the way people live work and travel. Week beginning 12th January
In English, we are almost finished with our non-chronological reports. The children have been adding lots of interesting details and focusing carefully on the quality of their writing. Christmas Preparations!
Christmas festivities have really arrived in School! We enjoyed a beautiful Christmas lunch on Thursday: Thank you so much to Mrs Platts and Miss Lewis for all your hard work and delicious food! We have also begun rehearsing our Nativity play. The children have learnt their lines brilliantly and it is really coming together nicely! Class One Learning WB 1st December 🎄🎅
Wow what a super week we have had celebrating all things Christmas now it is officially December! The week started with the arrival of our class elf bringing lots of decorations (and mischief)! Class 2 Art Week

A busy winning week!
We have had another great week of learning in Class Two. We are so very proud of everyone's tremendous efforts in the England Rocks TT Rockstars Competition. Thank you for your support at home. We came in the top 50 out of 4000 schools nationally and 7th in the Yorkshire and Humber group! Class One Learning WB 17th November
Anther busy week here in Class One with lots of fun and learning! In Maths KS1 have completed their Addition and Subtraction within 20 topic, ready to start Place Value within 100 next! JAM Club
We are looking forward to our special Advent and Christmas themed JAM session on Monday 1st December after school. We'll be hearing the story of 'The Grumpy Owl and the Joy of Christmas' and then doing lots of activities as we explore this theme. North Stainley Rocks!
Yesterday a three day national competition in TT Rockstars began; the aim to get the highest average score for 1 hours play. There are over 4000 schools taking part and with the hard work and determination of every pupil I am delighted to say that after day one, we are ranked 61 in the country and 7th in Yorkshire and Humber! A fantastic £52.10 raised for Children in Need!
We had a wonderful day on Thursday raising money for Children in Need. Thank you for your generous donations. The children all came to school dressed in their sporty clothes (some spotty and sporty!) and we challenged ourselves to run laps to keep fit. We all enjoyed a refreshing ice-cream when the van came to see us and we tracked Sara Cox and her marathon challenge of getting Pudsey to Pudsey! A week to reflect
This week has given us all opportunity to pause and reflect. On Monday many of us wore our odd socks to symbolize the beginning of anti-bullying week and through collective worship and PSHE we thought about being a positive power in the fight against bullying.
