Class One Learning WC/ 8th July

How is there only one week left of school for this academic year! The children are still working so hard despite it being end of term and all being tired- they are making us all very proud!

In Maths, we are all working on Geometry! EYFS have been looking at turning and rotating shapes, whilst Year One and Year Two are looking at position and direction! We are looking forwards to getting the beebot out next week and putting our direction skills to the test!

We continue with our Newspapers, thinking of short, snappy headline that catch people's attention! We had "Squirrel crosses tightrope on unicycle!', 'Royalty serves customers!' and 'Lost fish in bike shop!'. The children really enjoyed reading out their favourite headlines as if they were news presenters! EYFS are building up their independent sentence writing skills applying their phase 3 sounds and are coming on beautifully!

On Wednesday afternoon, we had transition! Year Two left us all behind to venture into KS2/Class Two with Miss. Wilson! Meanwhile, Class One did lots of fun activities together; building teamwork skills and getting used to not having Year Two's in the room anymore! Miss. Gregory was looking for lots of super Year One's and Receptions to take on some responsibilites in September! (although, the wish list for being the 'pencil sharpener-er' is getting rather long...!)

Next week we are looking forward to a vet visit, school production, leavers service and another transition morning... as well as next Thursday afternoon getting to make a phone call all the way to America... can you guess who to?

Have a lovely weekend- this weeks homework is more a little fun than 'hard work' for the children as we wind down!

Miss. Gregory x
