This week has given us all opportunity to pause and reflect. On Monday many of us wore our odd socks to symbolize the beginning of anti-bullying week and through collective worship and PSHE we thought about being a positive power in the fight against bullying. On Tuesday we paused to reflect at 11am and remembered those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in protecting our freedoms. The children showed great respect during the remembrance silence and in our conversations about the fallen.
This week we also launched our World Religion focus for this year. We learnt that Hinduism is over 4,000 years old, making it one of the world's oldest religions. It is made up of a variety of different religious beliefs and practices. It originated near the Indus River in India. The name 'Hindu' comes from the word Indus. Next week we will be thinking more about the Hindu beliefs about God. We cannot wait!
Next week we will be enjoying taking part in a competition on TT rockstars! This is a national competition with schools across England. Each day children will have an hour from 7:30 am to 7:30pm to score as many points as possible for our class and school! Fountains and Grewelthorpe are also taking part so we are looking forward to some healthy competition!
