This week in both Science and Computing, we created our own branching databases. We explored different questions we could ask to sort and divide items into groups. The children showed great creativity and produced some well-presented results.

Wellbeing Walk
Class 2 joined Class 1 to mark Children’s Mental Health Week in style with a refreshing walk. It was the perfect opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors whilst also having meaningful conversations and quality time with our friends.

Class 2 First Aid Training
This week, Class 2 successfully completed their First Aid training. We learned vital skills such as how and when to perform CPR, as well as the importance of various medical supplies. We were also given a variety of scenarios to have a go at applying these skills and to use different medical equipment. Whilst we hope never to have to use them, we are confident that we are now fully prepared to handle any medical emergency should the need arise!

Class 2 Art Week
This week, Class 2 fully embraced Art Week with creativity and enthusiasm. We began by mixing primary colours to create secondary and tertiary hues, then explored the use of black and white paint to add different tones to our colours. Through studying the works of renowned artists such as Peter Doig, David Hockney, and Ingela Johansen, we learned how to create a sense of movement in our paintings. Class 2 Number Day
Class 2 celebrated Number Day in style this year! We began with a lively Times Tables Rock Stars competition which was not only great fun but also helped us sharpen up our speed and accuracy with times table recall. We then put our skills to the test with a range of engaging number puzzles. After a well-earned break, we moved on to some fantastic maths art. Class 2 News
This week in Geography, Class 2 did an excellent job planning a range of interesting walks in our local area. Geography Discussion
This half term we have been exploring the question " How does our local landscape in North Yorkshire shape the way people live work and travel. " The children have been using their knowledge of maps from the Autumn term to interpret various maps of Yorkshire and our local area. Week beginning 12th January
In English, we are almost finished with our non-chronological reports. The children have been adding lots of interesting details and focusing carefully on the quality of their writing. We are looking forward to sharing their work with you soon. Welcome Back!
It has been great to see all the children again after the Christmas holiday and hear about all the wonderful things you have been up to over the break. Christmas Preparations!
Christmas festivities have really arrived in School! We enjoyed a beautiful Christmas lunch on Thursday: Thank you so much to Mrs Platts and Miss Lewis for all your hard work and delicious food! We have also begun rehearsing our Nativity play. The children have learnt their lines brilliantly and it is really coming together nicely! Class 2 Art Week
This week has been Art Week in Class 2! We have had a brilliant week learning about all thing’s printmaking! On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we practised and played around with three Printmaking processes: Monoprinting, Impressed printing and relief printing. A busy winning week!
We have had another great week of learning in Class Two. We are so very proud of everyone's tremendous efforts in the England Rocks TT Rockstars Competition. Thank you for your support at home. We came in the top 50 out of 4000 schools nationally and 7th in the Yorkshire and Humber group! North Stainley Rocks!
Yesterday a three day national competition in TT Rockstars began; the aim to get the highest average score for 1 hours play. There are over 4000 schools taking part and with the hard work and determination of every pupil I am delighted to say that after day one, we are ranked 61 in the country and 7th in Yorkshire and Humber! A week to reflect
This week has given us all opportunity to pause and reflect. On Monday many of us wore our odd socks to symbolize the beginning of anti-bullying week and through collective worship and PSHE we thought about being a positive power in the fight against bullying. Week beginning 24th October
This week, Class 2 have been busy exploring angles in maths.
