This week has been Art Week in Class 2!
We have had a brilliant week learning about all thing’s printmaking! On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we practised and played around with three Printmaking processes: Monoprinting, Impressed printing and relief printing. We explored how these different techniques created different types of print – creating colour and line in different ways.

We learnt about how to add texture to these prints using different materials in relief prints and different drawing techniques in monoprinting. We also tried out different mediums – using both ink and paint to create an image. Along our learning journey, we rehearsed our skills and improved our techniques and discovered favourite methods of printing.
Along side our practical exploration of printing skills, we also looked at the images of Matisse and Swoon who have both created some incredible artwork using printing techniques.
After lots of experimenting and creativity, the class produced some beautiful final pieces featuring multiple layers and thoughtful design.
Next week we will be back to our normal working week, with a healthy sprinkling of Christmas cheer too! Thank you as always for your ongoing support.

More photos to follow next week!
