We have had a wonderful first week back in Class Two, the children have been showing some great learning behaviours and have settled quickly to their learning at the start of school and after lunchtime. We also celebrated some fantastic scores from our AR targets last half term! Our Year Five were the only year group to score 100% at target across the federation! We have started strong this half term too as many pupils have obviously been reading lots at home during the holiday and as such have already reached their target! What Superstars!

Thank you for all your support with homework and reading at home. It is an expectation that everyone reads daily if possible at home - right the way through school. We cannot overstate the positive impact daily reading can have on every aspect of reading, writing and spelling.

As well as amazing reading, we have also been working hard on our Geography question: "Why are we never lost?" Through this enquiry we have considered - Which way is north? What do maps tell us and how do grid references help us to find things? We have all really enjoyed examining the local ordnance survey maps and identifying familiar features. We will finish our enquiry looking at maps on a much larger scale and consider how maps can help us to explore our world.

We look forward to seeing you next week at parents evening. If you have not yet booked up there are plenty of slots available - especially between half past 4 and half past 5 .
