We have had an excellent week of learning here in Class One this week!
Reception have been looking at 2D shapes in Maths, continuing to learn new sounds in phonics, read about having a dip in the sea, looking at what babies need in RE and looking at the local community in Topic!
KS1 have started a new genre in English, recounts in the form of diaries! We have been adding this week, using number bonds, doubles and near doubles to help increase our accuracy and fluency! Year One have been learning new Phase 5 sounds in Phonics and reading about what good things come from farms! Year Two have started the new unit in their spellings sessions and have really enjoyed the new format! We have been learning about a man called Charlie Chaplin in Music, started a new topic in PSHE all about celebrating difference, and we have even made some poppies to go on the fence outside the front of school next week (it would seem they are taking longer to dry than anticipated!)
On Friday afternoon the children were very excited to be able to trade in lots of well earned dojo points to exchange for prizes and playtime treats!
Next week will be busy again with:
Odd Sock Day for Mental Health Week on Monday 10th
Remembrance/Armistice Day on Tuesday 11th (poppy related items are available to purchase in school including paper poppies, slap bands, materials wrist ties, zip poppies and more. Please send your children in with donations if they wish to support the Royal British Legion and purchase from the box located in the entrance hall.)
Parents Evening on Wednesday 12th from 3:40pm
Children in Need with ice-cream van visit on Thursday 13th- £1 donation to wear sporty non-uniform and a donation for an ice-cream to go to the charity
