What a busy week we have had in Class One this week!
We have been practising really hard for our nativity performances next week, the donkeys practised his ee-ore, Mary has practised being a mum, Joseph has practised leading a donkey and going on a very long journey, the innkeeper(s) have practised how to answer the door and the star has practised flying through the sky! With singing and acting and fun in between it has been a wonderful time- we can't wait to share with you all next week!
In between practises, in maths KS1 have been looking at tens and ones and their place value, while Reception have been looking for 'nothing'- where can we find zero and things that have no value!
In Science we have been talking about habitats, in particular Microhabitats! We went on a minibeast hunt to look under rocks and leaves, in cracks and flowerbeds to see what different minibeasts there were! We learnt that the most common minibeast was a woodlouse, and the most common microhabitats were under rocks!
We have continued writing and looking at Non-chronological reports, ready to write a Christmas final piece next week!
In RE we ahve continued to explore the Christmas Story and considered why the Jesus' birth is still important even today!
In PSHE, Reception have focused on friendship- making friendship bracelets to hand out! and KS1 have been looking at Why bullying happens and what we can do to stand up for ourselves and others.
We have also had Christmas Jumper and Christmas Dinner Day, spent with Governors and parents to really make it special!
Our Elf continues to bring the festive spirit... and lots of mischief, including hiding Belinda Bear daily for the children to find- today he is very happy to be flying into the weekend and 2 days back at the North Pole!
